Another day in the life

I have not done much quilting lately. My kids are finally all in school and I will be able to get some time in soon.

I have not yet figured out exactly what we can do for the victims of Katrina, but I am processing it. I will be volunteering this week and in the upcoming weeks at Sabine Creek Ranch. I guess I'll just be playing with the kids after school. I would like our church quilt group to try to make a quilt for each person sent there, but this could be an daunting task. I am prone to start with the kids and try to work our way up from there.

On a personal note, I am thinking of doing the guild challenge this year. Maybe someone can hold me to it!! Yikes! The challenge for the Plano Quilt Guild is message in a bottle, and I have been wanting to make a beach theme quilt with some photos that we took in Ft Walton Beach, FL in 2004 (before hurricane Ivan tore the place up). Here are a couple of photos I'd like to include.

Another fiber junkie

I'm a crazy fiber junkie. I love to make quilts and I have recently begun knitting. I can definately say that I will not be able to keep up with the enormous traffic out there on knitting blogs, but I will try to put some pix up occasionally and update as often as possible.

Currently I'm knitting on a new pair of socks. It is the making waves pattern from the six socks knit along. I just started, so I am not planning on catching up. I am using Regia Cotton Surf Color in a green, aqua, and orange stripe. They are gonna be sweet!
